If you’re considering any high-end kitchen construction, you owe it to your project to evaluate the craftsmanship of these 30” range hoods. We’ll break down all the features and pertinent characteristics of these top-tier pieces so you can weigh your options when selecting your project hardware.
Premier PR6 30” Range Hood Construction Elements
The CopperSmith Premier PR6 30” Range Hood is no ordinary piece of kitchen machinery. These extravagant hoods deliver unmatched durability with unparalleled style. This section will explain what goes into constructing each of these 30” range hoods.
30” Range Hood Material: 16-Gauge Stainless Steel
Your average kitchen overhaul typically consists of hardware crafted from 18-gauge steel. This usually includes range hoods, sinks, and other kitchen ensembles.
Most commercial kitchens leverage the advantages of 16-gauge stainless steel but are rarely included in new home construction. Many home builders and general contractors opt for the 18-gauge variety of stainless steel because it’s more cost-effective than 16-gauge.
However, 16-gauge is the superior and more intelligent option when you compare longevity and durability. 18-gauge stainless steel is much thinner and far less durable than its 16-gauge counterpart.
16-gauge kitchen appliances, like sinks and this 30” range hood, easily withstand wear and tear without denting, scratching, or breaking down. Compared to the considerably shorter lifespan of 18” gauge steel, installing components constructed from 16” stainless steel is far more cost-efficient over the long run.
Efficient ventilation
The whole point of a black range hood is to get rid of those smells that linger after cooking, as well as smoke and grease particles in the air. The 30-inch range cooker hoods from CopperSmith do just that. They have powerful ventilation systems which capture these pollutants efficiently and get rid of them, so your kitchen is left feeling clean and fresh. If you are worried about the noise from the motor and fan, don’t be; they work quietly so you can ge on and enjoy cooking in a healthy and peaceful environment.
Lighting
Lighting is important in a kitchen for safe food preparation, as well as highlighting the features of your kitchen that you are proud of. Your CopperSmith 30-inch range hood can be turned into a great source of task lighting for your cooking area with the addition of some energy-efficient LED lights.
30” Range Hood Finish: Brushed Stainless Steel
Many homeowners don’t give much thought to the finish or application of any coating on their stainless-steel appliances and components. These CopperSmith 30” range hoods come with a brushed stainless-steel finish, giving them an additional layer of durability and cleanliness.
Stainless steel isn’t particularly infamous for its antimicrobial properties. Copper, the material used for the straps and rivets on these 30” range hoods (more on that in the next section), on the other hand, is.
A brushed stainless-steel finish adds additional antimicrobial properties, leading to a more sanitary surface around your cooking area. The brushed finish also provides longevity to these immaculate range hoods.
Brushed stainless steel is more resistant to the elements of water and corrosion from different cooking materials combined with high heat. With regular cleaning, these 30” range hoods have no problem standing up to the test of time.
Using the brushed finish also yields the final cosmetic element for owners of these CopperSmith offerings. After the final brushed layer, the finished product presents an aesthetically pleasing finished product that puts any kitchen project over the top.
30” Range Hood Straps and Rivets: Polished Brass “Living Finish”
The straps and rivets on this 30” range hood are crafted from living finished, polished brass. Living finished brass is a sought-after cosmetic element in brass selection, turning the brass materials into living, breathing works of art.
As time passes, the brass is allowed to age in its natural state. This causes it to slowly transform, leaving it with a never-ending, perpetually evolving finish that provides a raw, one-of-a-kind look.
In addition to the fantastic cosmetic elements of this brass, it also provides a high level of antimicrobial properties. Because of this organic state, the brass can naturally kill 99.9% of all bacteria that contacts its surface within two hours.
This includes:
- MRSA
- Staph
- Influenza A
- E-Coli
- Coronavirus
- And more
The two-fold benefits of the material and surface finish of these 30” range hoods deliver a beautiful touch of luxury and a much healthier environment to your kitchen.

You’ll have several decisions to make when ordering your 30” range hood from CopperSmith. This will help you prepare for any measurements or a specific color or design choices you might incorporate based on the hood configuration.
Measurements of CopperSmith 30” Range Hood
When ordering this CopperSmith Premier 30” range hood, you’ll have two size options – 30” and 36”. The final measurements will either be 30” W x 23” D x 30” H or 36” W x 23” D x 30” H.
These sizes are ideal for 24 or 30” range tops. Typically, these would be installed with a modest-sized four or six-burner gas-top range, which wedges perfectly between two cabinets, a perfect fit for this wall-mounted range hood.
Whenever you select a wall-mounted range hood, as a general rule, you want it 6” larger than your cooktop. This ensures proper ventilation during use, leading to maximum efficiency and shelf-life.
Fan and Faucet Selection
With any range hood, you must select the most appropriate fan for the job. This CopperSmith 30” range hood provides you with three ventilation options:
- 290 CFM
- 395 CFM
- 610 CFM
Choose the proper CFM level based on the BTUs of your gas range. To calculate your stove's BTUs, add each burner's power together and divide the total by 100. Choose a custom ventilation system to fully complete your range hood project.
In addition, you’ll have the choice between two different convenient, elegant wall-mounted faucets to complement the installation of your 30” range hood. The faucets extend perfectly over your range, making them ideal for filling large pots during cooking and eliminating tedious trips to the sink.
The faucets come in polished chrome and brass, which beautifully match your CopperSmith hood's original configuration.
Alternative Trims and Configurations for Your 30” Range Hood
If the original trim and configuration of this CopperSmith 30” Range Hood don’t quite match the style of your kitchen, alternative options exist to complement your theme better. Choose from almost 30 finishes and nearly 20 choices for straps and rivets.
Alternative finishes include:
- Antique Brass
- Dark Antique Brass
- Aged Copper

Cleaning Your 30” Range Hood
You can substitute a light, all-natural cleaning solution if you’d like, but we prefer a vinegar mix and baking soda for different stages for a more all-natural cleaning process.
Outside of the Hood
Use a spray bottle and mix two parts white vinegar with one part water. Spray generously on the outside of the range hood and use a cloth to wipe clean. Use a toothbrush for hard-to-reach areas, like the corners and edges of straps. Wipe clean with a cloth soaked in water, then use a dry towel to wipe clean.
Inside of the Hood
Mix baking soda and water in a glass bowl to form a paste-like mixture. Use your hands or a paintbrush to apply the paste to the most soiled areas inside the hood. Allow this mixture to sit for a half-hour. Use the same vinegar and water mixture from the previous section and scrub the inside of the hood generously. Spray with clean water to rinse and wipe dry with a clean towel when done for a crystal-like finish.
Cleaning the Filters
If your range hood isn’t overly soiled, you can clean the filters after you wipe down the interior. However, we prefer completing this step before cleaning the interior; that way, everything is clean before it gets put back together. Remove the filters and spray them clean in your sink, removing any excess gunk and grease. Soak them in warm water for 30 minutes. Spray them with water and vinegar from the first section and scrub them with a brush. Rinse them and wipe them dry with a microfiber towel before replacing them.
