Range hoods can be equipped with an incredible variety of features. As such, it's important for you to know which options are available, so that you can manage your expectations accordingly. The two most important aspects you'll want to be aware of are the rate of extraction and the overall noise level. The higher the motor rate, the better, so that more toxins can be removed from a greater area at a greater speed. Additionally, the higher the motor rate runs, the better sound quality will be able to achieved, so that you won't have to miss out on the opportunity to socialize every time you ventilate your kitchen while you work.
There are some other, additional, performance settings that you will want to be aware of. Some range hoods can be equipped with auto sensing, to activate the cooking hood when it detects heat or steam.
